This residential area of approximately 35 hectares is the infill development site of the city, which also connects almost directly to the city center. It is bordered on the north and east by existing neighborhoods on the south by Beverwijk and in the west by a business park. The existing landscape structures have been maintained and included in the plan, creating a recognisability of the area.
In the design philosophy the organic design themes play an important role at both landscape, urban and architectural level: Earth (solid, earthy, sustainable), Water (movement, vitalization), Fire (transition areas) and Air (thin, open and colorful). role. This philosophy creates a new landscape, urban and architectural environment in which the walker (the resident) reads “the story”. Taking people from page to page, from place to place with their resting points, tensions and intentions. Within this unit a greater variety arises from the intimate (living) rest to the public.
