Sustainable building

“What you love, you don’t demolish! That truly is sustainable!”

You create ultimate sustainability not only through a well-considered choice of sustainable materials, but also by designing and building a building that people love and therefore take good care of.

In this way, pleasant and liveable houses, buildings, neighbourhoods and cities contribute to sustainability. Respect for people, the environment and nature are our priority when designing sustainable buildings.

Our designs ensure low energy consumption, water use and CO2 emissions in the most natural way. Our material choices contribute to the sustainable handling of people, the environment and nature.

An optimal indoor environment also contributes to sustainability: the right choice of materials, shapes, colors and scale as well as well-thought out ventilation have proven effects on the well-being and health of residents and users.

With the principles of “Living Architecture” we apply, our designs are inspired by nature, based on beauty and harmony and contribute to the well-being of humans and animals.

The Netherlands currently has almost eight million buildings. A large part of these buildings was designed by an architect. Within architecture there are various trends that have determined the cityscapes in the Netherlands over the years. There are also trends that take sustainability into account in the broadest sense of the word. Max van Huut from Alberts & Van Huut (RTL) explains what this actually looks like.
