This green theatre is located in the historic center of Sneek along the route of the Elfstedentocht (a traditional ice-skating race on natural ice passing 11 cities). The theater has a renovated and a new part. The theater hall has 600 seats.

The room has perfect acoustics due to its egg shape, with good sight lines that guarantee an optimal experience of the performance. From the room there is access to the green roof and the various patios provide daylight into the rooms. One patio also serves as a smoking area for visitors and another for the artists.

The theater has various sustainable applications; daylight in the auditorium and stage floor for employees during the day, making maximum use of natural conditioned ventilation air, ecological friendly materials such as bamboo. Throughout the entire process, the objective has been to maintain the intended functional program of requirements and the aesthetic concept to achieve far-reaching optimizations when it comes to implementing architectural and installation-technical solutions. The cloakroom and toilets on the basement level were created in the basement of the post office that was there before the construction of the theater.

The theater exudes an atmosphere of being away from everyday worries and bringing visitors into another world. A theater full of wonder and imagination, where the imagination is stimulated and where creativity is stimulated.
