In 2004 we were approached to think about the design of a new training complex for the youth of football club AZ. It was a big challenge to put something very special on a relatively narrow strip. It is nice to train in a nice building, just like watching a nice game. Our starting point was sports. We have therefore opted for a building that radiates movement. In addition, we wanted to give the building a quirky, almost stubborn appearance. Just like good football players have. In this way a building was created that exceeds the average.
Unfortunately, in 2018 a major fire destroyed the building. Among other things, ‘t Lood had changing rooms, medical facilities, a powerhouse and study rooms. The facade of the building was dynamic like a football team. The cladding protruded above the roof edge in a characteristic way. Not straight, but then left again, then right again.
