Museum of figurative art “De Buitenplaats” is a step away from another world and is itself an art object and a much-appreciated example of organic architecture. The curved brick walls fluctuate with every centimeter and are overgrown by nature. Flowering roof gardens and colorful edges merge with the open-air chambers formed by Buxus and Taxus.
The museum was opened by Queen Beatrix in 1996 and offers a home for contemporary figurative art and there is always a lot to experience along with regular live music, opera, poetry and salsa.
