This beautiful and atypical showroom and offices of Jos Harm Exclusive Fireplaces is located in Amsterdam Noord. This company, well known in Amsterdam and far beyond, was established in 1889. Mid 2004, this remarkable building, with its huge showroom, opened with a fully equipped workshop, offices and on-site parking.
The assignment was clear: design a dynamic building with an exclusive appearance. A building that arouses interest and has a relationship with the element of fire. The Harm family could have opted for a shed, but they went for a building with an exclusive look and identity. Characteristic for this family. The building has become an expression of their dynamics, their quality, their reliability, their identity and their uniqueness.
By using different materials, shapes, colours and features new constellations constantly emerge. The building provides a constantly morphing image, like a kaleidoscope, which stimulates the imagination. The Jos Harm building will be recognised as such: the enchantment of the fire and the heat anchored in its surroundings, and always free of shape.
