In the center of the fortified town of Gennep, just behind the old town hall, we designed a new town hall in combination with a library and an apartment building. The library is situated on the ground floor and in the basement of the apartment building, and the gathering of buildings together embrace an intimate and accessible square just behind the old town hall. With the help of the artist Frans Smeets and the people of Gennep a ‘carpet’ of mosaic was laid out on the square.
