”Amsterdam Municipal Water” (now Waternet), Leiduin

We were asked to make architectural designs for a collection of buildings of the €˜€™Gemeentewaterleidingen€™€™, Amsterdam (Amsterdam Municipal Water, now: Waternet). This included a maintenance building, a technology lab, a building for rinsing water and an oxygen storage. The site had to be redeveloped to create a coherent whole.

We chose the philosophy of connection by using the elements earth, water, air and fire as a basis, where it primarily involved the integration of landscape, architecture and art.

We worked with various artists: the element of air was designed by American artist Lani van Petten, water by Paul van Dijk and fire in close collaboration with glass artist Ton Mensenkamp. The earth element, was designed by landscape architect Jørn Copijn.
