Lazuur at Gasunie, Headquarters, Groningen
Architecture as a third skin, not as an impersonal objectified mass, but as an extension of who we are.
Matter, form and color as a friendly experience.
Veiling can be described as multiple layers of transparent painted colors. The multiple layers of color each stay visible, due of their transparent nature. Resulting in a unity of color with a certain depth.
In the interior of the ‘’Gasunie’’, Groningen are several places with this veiling paintwork.
A good example is the main staircase situated in the hearth of the building.
The stairs are painted in the seven colors of the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yelow, Green, Blue, Purple and Violet.
